ALF, I think you are the one trying to have it both ways. You are complaining about the Angels lack of flexibility in payroll because of bad signings, but you are advocating paying Tanaka his going rate, which apparently is $175 million.

 

I wasn't advocating that contract specifically. I just have a hard time with the hypocrisy of this team showing little regard for getting value on these three mega deals for players who play positions we already had filled, yet we pinch pennies with smaller contracts and avoid making serious improvements to the team because they are not a good value. 

 

We have been "penny wise and pound foolish" as the saying goes.
