Morales to the Rangers?

Their lineup would be pretty ridiculous at that point.  A core of Choo, Beltre, Fielder, Morales would score an ass-load of runs.

I would not mind the Rangers losing their first.  Although they would get a comp pick back when Cruz signs somewhere.

It works out for the Rangers if Cruz signs with Seattle. They save money (difference between Cruz and morales) and get a higher draft pick.

No they wouldn't get a higher draft pick.  They would lose their first round pick by signing Morales.  And they would gain a compensation pick between the first and second rounds.  

 

Oddly, the Mariners for signing Cano, and losing Morales went up in draft order, since they lost their second round pick by signing Cano, but gained a compensation pick between the first and second rounds.  If the Mariners sign Cruz, they would lose their third round draft pick.
