Angels have plenty of leverage right now. I'm sure the front office knows this and has a plan in the works to keep him here. 

 

I'm fairly certain he'll end up signing something like 8 years 220 million and both sides win. 

I agree.  He is making league minimum right now, regardless of how incredible he is.  That means any extension will result in a huge raise and lifetime financial security.  As much as I think Trout will have no problem commanding $300 mil-plus if he reaches free agency, I really don't think the Angels need to go anywhere close to that number to get him to sign an extension (unless, of course, they want to sign him into his mid-30s).
