One interesting debut takes place tonight for UCI against Fresno St. at UCI's Bren Center: 

7-6 freshman Mamadou Ndiaye (Brethren Christian HS in Orange County), who already weighs close to 290 pounds, can touch 3 inches above the rim while standing still, and has decent agility for his size.   He's also going to be coached by a former NBA asst. coach in his 4th season at UCI (head coach Russell Turner), who is developing a rep for coaching big men.

He's a project.  Didn't have offers from the big guys.

He handled U-Dub really well a week ago.     18 pts., 8 rebs, NINE blocks!

Admittedly I've only watched his highlights on youtube, but I think jabari parker seems like a lock for #1.  His offense is already so good as an 18 year old

And we have our first sighting of the Daniel Bryan WWE chant (Yes! Yes! Yes!) at a college basketball game.

Last night at halftime of the Michigan State/An Ohio St game, about 20 Michigan State football players led the crowd in that chant.

Turns out that the leader, an OL for the football team, did the chant after an MSU player scored a TD in early November.

Ironic enough, the day before that happened I had posted a thread on the LB State Boardhost message board, asking if maybe the LB students should start doing that chant at the LB games by doing the "No! No! No!" for each opposing player being introduced, and doing the "Yes! Yes! Yes!" for each LB player introduced.
