i'm thinking that if goff had been in the game last night they would have beaten the crap out of him or he may not have been ready for what the niners threw at him.

i'm also not sure i want to trust his development to a lousy coach.

I completely agree. I understand people being down on Goff at this point, though. I'd like to see some of the malcontents give him some time, but what can you do?

Speaking of people having the crap beat out of them, I'm fairly certain that the Longhorns will annihilate the Bears on Saturday.

Going out on a limb?

Re: Webb. We are incredibly fortunate that he chose to come to Cal. He's pretty stinking good.

Also, I know that people thought very highly of our receivers before, but this new group is probably better. They're fast and BIG. Also, the O line play is much improved since we abandoned the two point stance towards the end of last year. Hansen is bananas good, and the dude is a walk on transfer that NOBODY else even gave the time of day to.

From a scheme standpoint, it doesn't seem that we're missing Tony Franklin. Spavital is doing a pretty good job so far. Lots of screens and that might be a problem if teams pick up on them later, but Webb is able to sell fakes really well and seems to be adept at keeping defenses somewhat confused.

That defense, though. We'll see how they do. They performed well in the second half (only gave up 10 points), but I think part of that is on the Texas coaching staff. They went away from what was working. Dummies.

I'd really like to have do over for the SD State game, just like I'm sure the Longhorns would like a do over for Saturday (and last year).

I always think it is funny when coaches out think themselves and make adjustments because they are anticipating the other team making adjustments.  That Texas coaching staff is not good though.

Thing is, you don't need a great defense when you can score as much as Cal does.  Think about Oregon for all those years.

It'll be interesting to see if we'll still be able to light the scoreboard up in Pac play. That was an issue with Franklin as OC and running his system. I think we might have a better chance now, but I dunno.

Hansen got Pac12 offensive POW. Well deserved. Such a cool story, his is. He's great.

so i do the big game every year.  and last year did the club level seats for the first time at the redone memorial stadium and i'll prob never sit in the regular seats again.  f*cking awesome, and only place to get booze! legit food too. we were impressed. they really did well on that aspect of stadium overhaul.

i look up prices for big game, club level seats:

starting at $1,000 per seat right now on stub hub.

hmmm... yeah i'll pass on that.

WHOA!

f*cking A! what a finish.

a 6 play goal-line stand to end the game.

we never stop anybody!

Yeah. It was awesome.

Dykes was absolutely going against logic not using timeouts, but it most definitely the most outward display of confidence in the defense that he could have possibly made, the insanity of it nonwithstanding.

The play that was made on Utah's second to last run was outstanding.
