Betts and Freeman had 1 more hit than Trout and Ohtani

Ohtani has indicated that 'winning' is his priority.

After six years of not even .500 results he must factor in a number of things.

His health and age. Healthy, he still is in his prime, but that window is shrinking. Maybe two or three more runaway  MVP type numbers if he plays both ways. But as a one way player he loses the 'wow' factor that places him above other great hitters.

But health is a big factor. 2024 already reduces him to a DH role only. And by 2025 he'll be a relative question mark on the mound after missing a year and recovering from his second arm surgery. Velocity could be down by then and a degree of caution about over use of certain pitches. Likely his starts will be reduced at first you'd think. So at best he'll have to adjust and adapt as a pitcher.

I don't think he wants to be seen as a one man savior, but blend into a good lineup. But he will be likely paid to be the missing link to a championship. So lots of pressure. Which he may enjoy after his career till now.

I just don't see the Angels being the right fit going forward. Other than maybe loyalty and being in an environment where he's comfortable.

All things being equal, Angels injuries won't be as devastating, they find a good manager and the roster improves. It may be realistic to see them as a dark horse playoff contender if everything goes right. That's an ultra optimistic view that still needs many things to happen that yet aren't in place.

So if winning is his priority, then you would think that the only way he stays with the Angels is having lots of faith that the rebuild will go well and quickly. And what are the odds on that?

I'd love for him to stay and be part of the solution during the next phase of team reconstruction. But he's earned the right to follow his dreams. And time will tell if they are realized elsewhere.

Mookie Betts... 12 years, $365 million.

Wasn’t a free agent signing and was 27 years old.

Betts got 365 and Bauer basically got the annual number experts are projecting for Ohtani so I wouldn't rule it out

Bauer got 3 years.

My prediction for Ohtani: Seattle or San Francisco.

Gonna be a west coast team playing home games in the pacific time zone, to make his games more accessible to Japanese television.

Pacific standard time puts a 7pm game at 11am in Japan. Roll back 3 hours for East coast time and it's 9am. Neither are non business hours and it really makes no difference to Ohtani since he's playing, not watching at home.

Can we stop these kinds of posts... seriously.. the Dodgers had another year better than any we have had in recent history if not our entiire history and there isnt a fan of this team or a player on it that wouldnt have traded seasons...
Yeah, they are out early, at least they got there, at least they played meaningful games for 2 months longer than we did.
These posts are just silly.
Hate em, thats fine, but they wont this round, again

Agreed.  I think these posts are kinda pitiful.

Doesn’t everyone realize that the Dodgers simply don’t give out free agent contracts like the one Ohtani will receive?

TBF, Ohtani is one of a kind.

If the Dodgers (or any team) are gonna deviate from their prior ways for a player, that player would be Ohtani.

Schadenfreude has it's place sometimes.  It's literally universal at some level.  When directed towards the Dodgers, as long as the team plane didn't drop out of the sky or something, I'll give it a pass.
