Angels sign JD Hammer to a minor league deal

Pitched in the majors for the Phillies a couple years ago

Just a guy.  Has been pitching in indy league.  Put up some good K numbers in the minors, but didn't seem to translate in his limited action with the Phillies (lower K rate, higher BB rate compared to minors).

IF someone were to ask me what someone named JD Hammer looked like, I think this dude's profile pic on BBRef would have been as close to what I would have described as possible.  The man is a real life Kenny Powers of Eastbound and DOWN (Thanks @jsnpritchett)

Hammer pitched the first 5 inning for the Salt Lake Bees last night, only gave up one run on three hits.  That's a lot better than most of the guys pitching there.
