Disagreed. This season, Velazquez has not been good defensively. I wouldn't say he's been bad necessarily but definitely nowhere near what he was last season and he has messed up a lot of routine plays for a glove first (only) type of player.

His fielding percentage at SS has gone from .979 last year to .938 this year.  But he been more effective overall with .3 fWar in 30 games so far whereas he had .3 fWar in 125 games last year.

I read your post saying if you were Arte you’d fire everyone if it’s just a cramp. That lacks the ability to be cautious with the best player in the world.

First, why are we cautious?  It a critical series, at a crucial time in the season, and the prominant narrative is Phtani is gone if we don't make the playoffs.

Second, if it a calf cramp, and unless Phtani said he couldn't bat, then it was stupid not to have him bat representing the go ahead run.

Its not April or May.  And its very well could be Ohatni last season as an Angel.  Why are ae being cautious?

Why be cautious with Ohtani?  Because his health is important.

I’m genuinely concerned for @EnglishCop. You may have killed him over the last several months.

So blow a game in a crucial series because we don't want to risk Ohtani career as he plays for the Dodgers.  Got it!

Its calf cramps.  Its not a blown elbow, or oblique strain!

Ok. You are entitled to that opinion. However if the team wants to have a chance of resigning him they have to be cautious.
