He’s lost about 2 k’s per 9 from last year. He isn’t fooling hitters this year. This is why you see an increase in the doink hit.

it's why he's not fooling anyone as you mentioned.  It's not like hitters know it's coming before he throws it, but my guess is they're certainly picking it up a fraction quicker and that's all the difference for a major league hitter.
