I think most every poster here wants Detmers to be successful and great.  In reality he’s 0-3, with about a 3.50 ERA.   Honestly, he’s a better pitcher than this and again, the offense let him down.  I feel bad for him.

Wow, that was one helluva job by Webb. 8 pitches, 8 strikes. Comes in with the bases loaded and allows zero runs. Nicely freaking done.

He allowed 12 base runners in 5 innings and Webb just bailed him out from 4+ runs. It was not a good start from Detmers.

I didn’t say good. I said it wasn’t poor and he kept us in the game, basically exactly what you ask for from you 4th and 5th starters…

Maybe it's time to yank Detmers after the second time through the order. He just can't be successful the third time through, for whatever reason.

 

He also needs to learn to be more economical. You can't be sitting on 90 pitches going into the 5th inning in every single goddamn start.
