I'd halt the breaks on that. 

I think a few years back he mentioned he was making a serious push for Scherzer and he went elsewhere. 
I'm still cautiously optimistic, but his comments on that are about as good Arte telling us he was going to sell the team. 

If Trout's words were that strong with players/front office, then we would have been in the playoffs years ago.

True, but Ohtani is a teammate.  I’m looking for positives here so may be reaching.
