I wish our team was like the A's

texas will make the playoffs. what are you smoking?

I'd be really surprised of Texas doesn't make the postseason. They have incredible depth with one of the best farm systems in baseball in case somebody goes down. They also have a ton of talent to move for a piece if needed.

I'd much rather watch an exciting team with superstars, than a dull team.

It's sad that the Angels suck, but I would NEVER trade places with an A's fan. Only the W-L record.

All their best players will be gone in a few years, and there's little excitement in the offseason.

How would you feel if you knew that Trout would be gone in 3 years or less? At least we have hope to see possibly one of the best players of this generation fulfill his potential!

going year-to-year mixing and matching other team's failed pospects, aging vets seraching for another shot, mid-level MLB talent on a 1-2 year deal, young prospects traded for even younger prospects and high-priced gamble thrown in here or there.

The A's do it out of necessity...is this really what you want?

It is kind of sad, but that kind of sounds like us this year!

If the Angels were going to rebuild, it will have to be with the assumption that Pujols and Hamilton are total busts...but that they are going to be a part of the roster and full-time players at least for the next few years....the hope being that as you get towards the tail end of their contract they put up enough production/return to enough form that someone will take the last few years of their contract off your hands.

Might guess would be the Angels double down for the next 1-2 years and hope they pull an inside straight...they almost have to...while trying to restock the farm system, especially the lower levels, and hope that some of those guys start to pan out in 4-5 years when the rebuilding effort will really be starting. That's a tough plan to execute though...you can't go the FA route and rebuild the farm system and you don't really have any prospects to bring in major league talent. You almost have to trade some current value, like Bourjos, maybe guys like Aybar or Kendrick, for the big pieces you need (pitching) and hope that you can sign a cheap veteran or two to fill in the gaps created by moving some of your pieces.

One thing about having a sorry season this  year is that we should have a protected draft pick, so it would be a good time to hit the FA market.

That's actually a good point. Unfortunately the SP class in 2014 is terrible.

The A's and Rangers are just so much better run. As long as the Angels keep Scioscia and Dipoto employed, we're going to consistently finish in 3rd or 4th place. This teams coaching staff and front office sucks. Time to shitcan Sosh and his staff already. Too many base running mistakes from this awful team

Yea, its not like Scioscia has ever won anything!  He can't possibly lead us to a division title!

Right, right, I just love these arrogant A's fans.  Remember when the A's lost Cespedes for awhile and went into a slump?  The Rangers have lost Kinsler and Moreland simultaneously.  Their run production went down 0.67 runs per game when they lost Kinsler then down 1.95 when both were on the DL.

They come back this week, maybe Soria will be added to the bullpen, as well.

So, keep dreaming A's.  No way the A's win the division this year.

The only thing more lovable than arrogant A's fans are arrogant Rangers fans. Good thing our Angels fan site has both!

Haha.  I'm sure the A's are thrilled about coming to Texas this week. They not only get to bat against three of our replacement pitchers, but unlike in Oakland they actually get to play in front of a crowd.  The white shoes, though, LOL.

If the A's win a W.S Title than I will agree that they are like we used to be. If they don't then they are just another failure like the Rangers.

Hello... the A's have won NINE World Series titles. That is nine times the number the Angels have won. Only the Yankees and Cardinals have won more. Just sayin'.

Awesome...Do you have a Connie Mack poster right next to the pennant celebrating the first WS championship back in 1910?

Never mind the fact that both the A's and Angels have the same amount of WS victories in the last 39 years...

the upside of not having any high priced players is that if you don't perform, you sit.  When you get your shot, you better make the best of it.  There aren't many who have a guaranteed spot in that lineup.  They seem to have bought into this as well.

They also have some talented young pitching and their bullpen throws strikes.

Bob Melvin is a good manager for this team. They play hard for him, and he expects nothing but their best at all times.

The A's just dropped two of three to the Mariners, lost a game to Texas and have to face Yu Darvish tomorrow... they have to play the Mariners again after the Rangers.  Not sure I'd want to be the A's right now.

Yeah, sounds like our season is over.  We have to play the Rangers and Mariners five times.

Requiescat in pace, A's.

the rangers are improving while some of the a's hitters are regressing. and it's no wonder those scrubs have won so many games when they get every ****ing call their way.

Bad calls always even out to 50/50 and that's why people hate it when people complain about bad calls.

I hardly even complained about that.

That being said, some of our hitters are regressing, but some of our hitters are also regressing the other way.  Reddick, Young, Cespedes.
