OP Sen. Burr facing North Carolina censure after Trump conviction vote

Cancel culture is quickly becoming one of my least favorite political terms just behind fake news.

This shit is so silly. It's time for everyone just move on from all the Trump stuff

i agree. time to put him in the rearview mirror and focus on what's in front of us. there is so much that needs our immediate attention instead of dwelling on what's behind us.

As much division as there is between AOC/Bernie-like Democrats and Pelosi/Biden-like Democrats, the fissure in the GOP seems even larger by comparison.

I remember the aftermath of McCain losing pretty vividly.  Bush left office in such a cloud of failure.  The Iraq war was a complete disaster even with the bullshit about “the surge” never mind Afghanistan.  The financial crisis made it seem like capitalism as we knew it was at an end.  And the conservatives were eating shit for all of it.  It seemed then, way more than now that the GOP was fucked forever.  I don’t really see this weakness that some people seem to see.  I don’t think it’s reeling in any way that resembles what we saw then.  And as far as this group that wants to splinter away ?  Why would that succeed ? I don’t think there’s a lot of popular support on the right for these people.

200%

after the dems stole the nom from sanders and Hillary lost to trump they were saying the same thing about the left.

both parties will continue to fail the electorate because their priorities are nothing that everyday Americans want or care about.

Cancel culture was getting out of control 12 years ago.  People ignored it and let it fester.  It's too late to complain now that it smells like old cheese.

Also there isn’t a division between Democrats and the Bernie’s and the AOC’s.  It’s not disagreement that can be negotiated.  Pelosi and the Schumer and 98% of the Democratic Party are actively the political enemies of the few elected “leftists” in this country.  They’d rather be in bed with the conservatives then people like Sanders.  People who lean left or who do identify as leftists need to understand this. For some reason, they largely do not.

Cancel culture is when people yell at me online and I lose my job at the Mickey Mouse company because I won’t shut the fuck up about ridiculous Holocaust references.  Also I’m a wealthy person and now I get to make more money then I ever did before because I’m a martyr for dumb fuck boomers.  It’s a real crisis.
