I’m not surprised on the Strasburg prediction. I think Strasburg will sign before Gerrit  ... somewhere around the $200M mark. Teams have money to spend and pitching seems to be what teams are looking for. Texas Rangers are looking to make a splash heading into their new home. They’ve never been afraid to overpay.

To me, if Bowden is correct on these numbers, the decision to move on from Cole would be an easy one.

Trout’s extension was for 12 years - that shifts the aav lower than a 7yr contract does. 

I don’t see a major issue with it, personally. 

Honestly, no. Definitely not from a pitcher who isn't playing every day.

wheeler pitched 195 innings this year and 182 last year.

with ryu your argument is significantly more valid, but he did pitch 182 innings this year.
