Angels recalled INF Taylor Ward from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Ward has been playing almost exclusively in LF for the past month or so, but can still play 1B and 3B, and of course C in a pinch. 

Great numbers this season in AAA.

Starting at 3B today....which is funny because they basically gave up on him playing 3B in AAA, but that's just kind of the way the Angels season has gone so far.

The Astros top prospect Kyle Tucker has an OPS just over .905.

the PCL has been neutral in regard to runs this year.

Has Ward played any 1B?  It's hard to imagine him playing much now or in the future considering his lack of defensive skills.   No way he should be playing 3B.  Outfield and DH are crowded.

I like the idea of Ward in the outfield... he's athletic... good speed... not that the Angels have a need there - but someone else might , if you know what I mean.  Ideally he'd blossom at 3B for the Angels, but that seems less likely every day.  This is a huge opportunity for him.  He's not likely to get many more.

Cowart was more of a pitcher out of HS than a hitter. They should have developed him off the mound, or at least a two-way guy from the get go.

He's going to have to hit very well with that defense.   Seems unlikely he will get regular at bats here barring multiple injuries.   Pressure is on when he does get a few.   Makes it tough.
