I remember a nutritionist once saying that you can waste food inside the body or outside the body. Meaning, never over-eat - better to "waste" the food outside the body.

Now I'm not saying that the Angels shouldn't give Cahill and Harvey more time - they should, if only to see if they can muster some kind of trade value. But if they both continue pitching like this, at some point you're just "wasting food inside the body."

That at bat exemplified why Trout is so good and such a frustrating batter for pitchers to face. Verlander threw four really good pitches, all very close to the zone and Trout didn't swing at any of them. Masterful.

Fletcher was running because Skipper Brad had the contact play on.

Skipper Brad is a moron. The ball was right back to the pitcher. The contact play hardly ever works out yet managers still continue to use it.

On that particular contact play, the batter was the best contact batter in MLB. Simmons seldom doesn't make contact. 

The grounder right back at Verlander is always a risk, but a relatively low one.
