That was always the problem for Shoemaker. When that splitter was on, he was ace-like. When it wasn't, it was bombs away.

On the bright side, the inning could have been a lot worse since Ohtani looks off.   Hopefully he'll shake off the cobwebs and get back in rhythm.

Don't think so. He's just not sharp. It happens but it just sucks that it's against a team with a lot of national attention.

Right. I'm not sure he's ever played in front of a crowd this size. First time in the United States, against a very good hitting team that's in 1st place. 

I'm sure he had ZERO jitters.
