Not sure i agree with the ADW arrest...if it is, i dont see its not also a false imprisonment charge against the protest crowd.

Yeah, someone pounding on the hood of my car and jumping up on it means I'm getting clear of them as quick as possible to minimize damages I won't be able to get the assholes to pay for when they run off.

Not to mention, its not like the people who end up in front of his car didnt have every oppurtunity to get out of the way.

I really dont see the DA filing this one.

I think it would depend on who "initiated" the contact. If they surrounded the car and were pounding on it, that's one thing. If we said fuck those dirty liberals and drove into the crowd, that's another.

 

The whole demonstration lasted about 20 minutes and remained peaceful, Carpenter said. Then at least part of the group moved into and blocked the intersection of Birch Street and Brea Boulevard.

“We asked them to clear, and they did,” the lieutentant said.

But while participants were heading back to their buses, a man slowly drove his car toward those who had not yet cleared the intersection.

“The protest was almost over, and they were walking back when this car came to the crowd,” Carpenter said.

An apparent video of the incident, posted on social media by UNITE HERE Local 11, which represents 29,000 employees who work at hotels, restaurants and other venues, shows an apparent protester slamming her hand on the hood and another woman hopping onto the sedan. The Toyota Avalon pushes through the crowd at slow speed, with one man ending up on the hood.

Does it show that before he started, or after he started driving into the crowd?

So logically speaking, he got impatient and started creeping forward before they fully dispersed and they decided to be dicks about it and slap his car and get a free ride on his hood. I believe it’s been well established that most stories have more than one a-hole

But what if he said "Fuck those dirty liberals" while idling in his car?
