The Angels' WC hopes are not looking good right now.

They aren't helping their own cause, either.

They're still in good shape. New York has a tough schedule. Chances are just as good that the Twins regress a bit as their chances are of staying this hot. Angels are only 2 back still.

The Rays and Royals are just barely hanging in there and are a tough series or two away from becoming irrelevant. Baltimore doesn't have the pitching or schedule to stay in this.

Texas and Seattle are a challenge. We have enough head-to-head games remaining with both to switch places in the standings. They really need to play these teams well.

9/9/17

Yankees 3-1 in 9th over Texas

Indians win 17th straight

Orioles lose

I hope the Indians win every single game until they get to Anaheim at this point. By that point they'll be bound to lose a couple, right?

Texas choking kinda sucks but not still helps Halos with some breathing room.

Yea Texas is breathing down our necks, the more space between them and us the better. The Yankees will be playing a lot teams in the East and Central Divisions soon and we can hope they lose to the teams farthest behind us.

Why are any of us surprised that none of these teams are running away with it?  There is a reason this season we have so many teams fighting for the last playoff spot.  It is because most of these teams are within a couple of games of being .500.  So these teams are winning a few then losing a couple.  If they were capable of sustained success there wouldn't be a race to be in.

Same could be said about all 8 teams still left in the wild race.
