To me, when they got the lead, they went into a prevent defense.  Which doesn't work for the Ducks.  But a win with Getzlaf on the shelf is huge.  

 

Bring on the Oilers.

Oilers and Avalanche the next two games.  I say rest Getzlaf those two games.  Then Kings again on Saturday.

They are such a different team without him, I think they risk losing even against the lowly teams in the west.

What a fun game to watch last night.  Even though the Kings outplayed the Ducks, it was nice to see the Ducks pick up the 2 pts without Getzy.  Now we are that much closer to locking up the division!

Also appears as if Sami Vatanen has been recalled from AHL Norfolk. Just hit the ice. Has 8-36-44 +1 in 59 games with Admirals.

I'm hoping Vatanen will be the Ducks version of Slava Voynov. He's undersized, but he has been successful at every level he's played at.

Yeah sounds like Getz wont play.  Vetanen back to Norfolk.  Was up just in case multiple defenders were hurt but only Souray is out.
