Strad and Lou, told ya guys that Calhoun belongs behind Trout.  This will be the first of many games it proves to be right.

Calhoun hits pretty well with runners on base and in scoring position.  Been saying it for years, the numbers suggest he should hit behind Trout.  This would be a perfect time for Mike Scioscia to start managing properly and pay attention to the numbers for once.

Yes but do the math Strad.  19 of Calhoun's 26 home runs last year were solo shots.  He had a .234 BA and a .702 OPS with the bases empty (401 at bats).  He hit .293 with a .778 OPS last year with runners on base (229 at bats).

Over the last 3 years, Calhouns splits are as follows

Bases Empty: .245 BA, .725 OPS

Runners on base:  .299 BA, .816 OPS

It is clear Calhoun is a much better hitter with runners on base, there is no denying this, it is a fact and the numbers prove it.  Now factor in Trout has a .400+ OBP routinely.  The numbers have shown that this switch should have been made a long, long time ago, only problem is Mike Scioscia doesnt pay attention to numbers and goes off his horrible instincts.  Trout batting 2nd last year with Calhoun 3rd and Pujols 4th would have made this lineup so much more dangerous, regardless of who you put in front of Trout.

Ive been posting these exact same numbers on here for over a year now, and now its finally coming full circle.  You will see, Calhoun batting behind Trout will be that much of a difference this season, and when its proven true ill go back and bump all my old posts about making the switch so I can take full credit for it.
