WHY was he acquired???

Have you watched him play? He is an excellent defensive player. He is a very good late inning pinch runner. In his last two full seasons he had a total of 44 stolen bases with 5 caught stealing. Hell we will win a couple more games a year because he isn't facing us. He can bunt.

I was looking forward to watching Ortega in the 4th OF role, but Gentry fits it better. I like him predominantly because he can hit LHP and if we use him as a pinch runner, he can still a base, which we haven't had since Figgins I think.

I really like what Eppler has done with Gentry, Pennington and Soto. All three are low cost, and all three are among the best in the game in the reserve role. The Angels are a much deeper team than they were 6 weeks ago.
