He has never been good n the 4 hole. Move him to 3rd. It makes no sense, but baseball is 99 percent mental.

 

so you're saying if we were to go to, say, the same exact lineup but with Bourjos batting 9th and Trout back in leadoff everything would be cool?

I'd much rather hit him 5th (or lower) than 3rd, where Pujols has been having a pretty good season.

To answer the thread title...he can't get much worse and will, without question, get better.

 

Be great if this sweep continues into the Texas series.  Turn this horrific start around along with having more from Hamilton and a healthy Weaver coming down the road.

i think he'll have a hard time adjusting now that pitchers are on to him. he's admitted that he doesn't have very good pitch recognition or plate discipline. he was a late bloomer in terms of baseball and that allowed him to get away with his approach over the last couple of years but we'll see if he adapts.

He isn't this bad,the  typical Hamilton press is on. He's trying to hard to make something happen, bench him and move him down for awhile, very likely he'll be a force sooner than later.

Hamilton is a streak hitter.  He may suck right now, but there will be times that he will carry the team by himself.

 

I hope that's not after we trade him to the NYY.

Looking back to 2011, it was 1 HR through 17 games with a .318 average. He only had 25 homers that year but knocked out 42 last year.

How many times in your life have you EVER seen an opposing pitcher actually WANT to pitch to the clean-up hitter with one out and the winning run on 2nd base? C'mon, the Mendoza Line is rock bottom, not a GOAL. Sit him for the Texas series. (Re-Post)

Funny, he's actually done better at home, but still crummy. 267/.294/.567/.861 with 2 HR's and 6 RBI's at home vs. .121/.216/.152/.368 with zero HR's and 2 RBI's on the road. He's been terrible vs. LHP's (.056/.095/.111/.206)!

The only Angel I consistently saw that from in this series was Hamilton. His shots died at the warning track.

Said the same thing about Pujols this time last year and he ended up batting .285 with 30 HRs and 105 RBI. Albert was actually playing worse last year then Hamilton is now. Hamilton is streaky, not worried a bit.
