Pestano....

Been off the board all day so this may have been discussed but if there is concern about having an open roster spot for Pestano on the 40 man, why not just release Joyce or DeJesus? Neither is doing much of anything and both have contracts that expire at the season....

I had high hopes for Pestano coming into the season, and I think most of us here assumed he'd be one of the go-to arms in the bullpen. Instead he's become this year's Joe Thatcher.

Put it this way, I'd rather have Salas or even Bedrosian pitch relief than Vinnie.

Joyce is still on the roster because he's the go to guy for dumping water coolers on players after the game.

DeJesus has a hot wife....yeah that's about it.

Vinnie offers nothing at all.

Maybe not a lot but an additional arm in the pen, any arm, damn sure offers more than DeJesus or Joyce right now....

Fletcher mentioned the 40 man roster and Pestano in his OCR article today....no point beyond that blurb except none of these guys, Pestano or Wright, etc. are very good and will solve losing Street or Smith....but I would rather have an extra arm than Joyce or DeJesus right now...that's all....

Really not sure the point of an extra arm. That isn't the solution here. Then solution is their current arms (Morin, Gott, Salas, Alvarez, Ramos, Rasmus, Wright and Bedrosian all stepping up.

I feel confident in both Morin and Gott. If we could have one more step up and be a shut down reliever, this situation would be solved. Maybe it's Rasmus going 2 innings. Maybe it's a platoon situation with Ramos and Bedrosian. Maybe it's Salas rediscovering what made him not suck as bad in 2014. I don't know.
