Who is the leader in the club house?

Recommended Posts

This is a problem. There is no vocal leader. Maybe Trout should be, but perhaps, as a second-year player, he might not feel he has the gravitas to be a vocal leader.

They also need someone to keep things loose. Unfortunately, that guy (Aybar) is on the shelf.

I think Albert prefers to be a quiet "lead by example" type. But he's got his own (foot) issues.

Hard to be a leader when you don't lead off (Mensa Mike). Please Mr Trout, be the team leader. We are paying Mr Wells 20 times as much as you to play for someone else, and you stunk it up in center last year, so we moved you.

You don't have to lead off to be a leader.

Torii never led off.

It's more of a philosophical thing than a literal one. Every team has it's ups and downs, and Torii was the one to "rally the troops", so to speak. He was probably the best overall position player during his time here and he was also an outspoken vet. I'd say most if not all players on the team looked up to him in some way.

Then again, that is just fan perception.
