Who is the leader in the club house?

Since Torii is gone who is leading the troops? (not scioscia) We don't have that one guy in the club house. I mean I guess Albert maybe.

Aybar.lol. Led our team to the offseason in 08, Key to Kendry's being off for 2 years by stomping on his batting helmet as he came down. We can't win without this man. He pulls pranks on El Hombre, and leaves chew balls all over the dugout floor larger than the stadium rats.

Right now no one. Eventually it will be Trout. It is difficult when you have 2 guys getting paid like AP and JH and neither is the leader type. Trout is the only type A personality of the starting nine. Trumbo can also be a leader.

This is a problem. There is no vocal leader. Maybe Trout should be, but perhaps, as a second-year player, he might not feel he has the gravitas to be a vocal leader.

 

They also need someone to keep things loose. Unfortunately, that guy (Aybar) is on the shelf.

 

I think Albert prefers to be a quiet "lead by example" type. But he's got his own (foot) issues.

Ya I dont get where this leadership thing is coming from.  Torri was outspoken yes, but that doesn't mean he's a leader....and it's not like the angels had amazing success when he was the "leader" here anyways.

It's more of a philosophical thing than a literal one. Every team has it's ups and downs, and Torii was the one to "rally the troops", so to speak. He was probably the best overall position player during his time here and he was also an outspoken vet. I'd say most if not all players on the team looked up to him in some way.

Then again, that is just fan perception.
