Gameday Thread: 8/21 vs. Blue Jays: Jackson at 2B

Hard spot for the Angels really.  I mean tonight's starting C, 2B, 3B and LF may offer nothing in the way of offense.  When Trout and Pujols, who have been carrying the team for so long, go through slumps, that leaves the Angels with Aybar, Calhoun and Cron, and that's it.

I mean even on a GOOD day, we're still only looking at pretty much nothing from LF, C and 3B.  That's a third of the lineup.  Compounding the problem, we really don't have anyone in AAA, off the bench or on the DL that can for sure help.  Maybe Freese comes back healthy and isn't completely lost.  Maybe Kubitza is promoted and finds his stroke.  Maybe Bandy comes up and is slightly better than Iannetta.  No game changers.

And the closest thing resembling help in AA is Chad Hinshaw.  Sherman Johnson's at the mendoza line.  Yarbrough fell flat on his face (he's in AAA).

So yeah, the crappy Angels offense isn't going to improve this year.  In fact, given that the Angels will be adding a new GM who will need to ge settled in this winter, I'm skeptical whether they'll even add offense heading into next year.  I mean yeah, Bandy and Kubitza should be upgrades, but those are relatively small upgrades.  The Angels need another thumper to pair with Calhoun-Trout-Pujols, or they need a speedster to put in motion in front of those guys.  They may even need both.  Heck, they'd even need a new manager, one willing to put players in motion instead of the station to station crap Scioscia's doing.

Blue Jays: lineup pending

David Price (L) SP

What a frigging joke. SHANE is crap...at bat...and after Thursday nights throwing decisions....in the field also. CJ Cron-magnon left SIX teammates on base Thursday...and after hitting the game winning HR, Carlos Perez gets to sit for TWO STRAIGHT GAMES.

Is Scioscia feeling sorry for IANADA twtter attacks?

So stupid...so inconsistent....such BS.

Why does Southern California have the two worst skipppers in the MLB?

Robertson was doing way more for the team than Victorino is at this point. We got worse at the trade deadline. That hurts

Victorino and the Jesus haven't done much, but Murphy has been less horrible than Joyce for the most part.
