This argument only makes sense to me unless you include all organizations.

 

Unions, privately held companies, charities, all excluded from giving financially.

IMO the only influence that corporations, unions or any other collective entity ought to have in an election should come from their members going to the polls and voting. They should not be funding campaigns or running ads.

It kinda destroys the basic ideals of democracy and basically turns the country into an aristocracy. I know we were headed that way before citizens united, but legislation like this just accelerates the process.

do you feel like your reps on DC really have an interest in what is best for you? i don't, and i think most americans think the same.

 

i think in the case of what politics has become, it's important to try and return power to the people, not the corporations. in that case, it would absolutely be okay to tell others what can (or can't) do.

But we aren't telling corporations what they can do. We're telling people what they can do with their corporations.
