I know Ianetta and Conger bats don't get much love by the media. However, the catching position is tied for FIRST on the Angels in RBI's by postion. Is second in OPS by position and second in walks. All of that while having the fewest plate appearance for any position other than DH. Makes the Mathis years seem like a distant memory.

This confirms what Langston, Physioc, Hudler, and others have been saying about Chris Iannetta's pitch framing. 

 

I like the contribution from the catchers this year though especially offensively, but I would like to see Conger get a larger share of starts than Iannetta.

Leave Ianetta alone. He's the perfect player. He has no weaknesses and no areas to improve.

Iannettas OPS is up to .824 and Conger is hitting .300  

 

This platoon is actually working very well.  Us and the A's (with their Norris/Jaso platoon) may have the catcher position figured out.  

 

Now if only Conger could get a few more DH ABs over Ibanez...

Amazing the impact of not consigning one position to provide no offensive production.
