I meet with him last night at my dealership. He was trying to buy my used Tacoma truck for his son.

Of course the conversation got around to baseball and the Angels. We also talked a little bit about Mike Trout and his early accomplishments.

I brought up the fact that Trout had back to back 10 WAR seasons. I found it weird that he had no knowledge of that stat ... seriously. In my best effort I tried explaining what it entailed.

He's employed by the MLB Scouting Bureau. He also showed me Mike Scioscia's cell number which now embedded in my brain. I can text him if you like

Btw he never did make the deal on the Tacoma ... but I did get a ball & bat for my little guy. He was in a hurry to get to the Mater Dei baseball game last night.

I don't really know who you're talking about but at least for amateur scouts, sabermetrics knowledge isn't needed at all. They are more for looking at basic skill sets and predicting how players will grow.
