Just read a story about a Russian Flag grade officer (General) committed suicide. 

 

He was tasked with pulling reserve tanks out of storage to replace what has been lost.

 

Apparently, only 1 in 10 tanks was preserved. Rest were stripped of everything. No idea when it happened, could have been years ago.

This has long been the question of both the Russian and Chinese armies.... huge on paper, but how well maintained?

 

The Germans in WW2 were similar.... phenom offensive weapons... while most of their supply was done by horse drawn cart.

Russia is all teeth, no gums or jaw.

As Russian's invasion of Ukraine has unfolded I keep thinking of Operation Odessa that I watched a year or two ago.  No doubt it was embellished but at the same time there's certain aspects of it that no one denied or disagreed with.  When the Soviet Union fell anyone with enough money could buy tanks, other weapons and apparently even a Soviet submarine if they got in touch with the right person, usually a general or someone higher up in the military.  Anyways I've always just assumed even now that the Russian military is ridiculously corrupt and it wouldn't surprise me if high ranking members have made themselves wealthy at the expense of their army.  Also wouldn't surprise me if they thought they had things locked away for years or even decades that were sold off a long time ago.

What is dumb is hell (among other things) is that for the past 15 or so years, Russia has bragged about its new super weapons. 

 

If Im a betting man, Id say theyre all full of shit. But I assume they actually did spend some money at least trying to build them.

These include a nuclear powered torpedo, with a nuclear warhead, that can launch from Russia, hit a western port a day later, and create so much fallout that it will make it uninhabitable for 1000s of years.

 

.... which is so much more useful than the missiles they already had.

 

A nuclear missile that can travel over antarctica, and hit the US from the south.

And theyve actually spent money on this stupid shit.... and yet spent zero on simple things like night vision, and gps devices.

Here is the thing with Russia.  Everybody thinks they should be the US, and maybe they have some toys that they can do something with.  But you look at every war they have been in.  And it's pretty much what they are doing in the Ukraine, scorched earth, kill everyone, win at any costs.  Look at WW2.  There is a reason why Germany and Japan surrendered to the US, before Russia.  Russia was pretty much destroying everything and everyone in their path.  Afghanistan, Syria.  They don't care about civilians, they care about winning at all costs.  Kiyev destroyed?  They don't give a shit, because to them, that is what war is.

They are a regional power now. Not a superpower. Theyre far closer to Mexico or Brazil than they are to The US or China.

I’ve been following this girl’s YouTube for a couple years or so and I’ve also been wondering what her opinion has been of the current situation and if she would be silenced or tossed in the gulag but I guess she’s ok. She has to be careful what she says on her channel but you can tell she’s not happy with the direction her country has taken. She lives over by Vladivostok so opinions may vary on that side of the country.

That’s a good point. The more I think about now is a golden opportunity to finish them off and send a message to China. This conflict is allowing Biden and China to pivot from covid. I’m for ending this quickly and letting China know it’s time to pay up.
