He doesn't throw quite as hard as you ideally like to see in the new model of Jepsen, but he should do just fine.

seriously, at this point, whatever it takes for the team to realize he should be pitching in games that the team is up or down by 4 runs or more.

I think he'll be better next year in his 2nd year after TJ surgery but yeah he's been mediocre lately.

I am skeptical that he pitches better next year.  He kinda is what he is.  A guy with a good move fastball and a good secondary pitch.  Like it's been mentioned before, the minors are filled with guys like this that just can't totally get it together.  His 4bb/9ip rate is pretty consistent with his minor league numbers.  He lives off pure stuff but doesn't know where it's going.

To be fair, he just started pitching in his senior year of college (2008).

Then he undergoes TJ surgery after 2011.

He's still essentially learning how to pitch.

I'd rather keep him and let Jepsen go. Eleven years is enough for Jepsen in this org.
