ROY are usually from a different time zone. Unless they have years worthy of MVP votes as well. Or they area trendy pick because the same team has had two or three consecutive players win. Oakland and Dodgers come to mind.

Remember the BBWAA can give these awards to whoever they want. Same with Rawlings and their gold gloves. Myers brought two starters in the deal. Without Shields and Davis, they would be starting Sean O'Sullivan more than likely and Ervin Santana would be their #1 starter. Depending on how the other pieces in the deal pan out, it wasn't that bad of a trade. They Royals probably wouldn't be in position for a wild card spot if they didn't do this deal.
