April schedule is NOT difficult.   Please stop perpetuating that misconception.

U-12 Travel ball teams play in more time zones.

Baltimore Division winners

Miami Wild Card

Boston

Tampa Bay Wild Card

Cincinnati

Minnesota Division winners

Philadelphia Division winners

April is comprised of three Divisional Winners, two Wild Card teams and two teams with better records than the Angels last year.

That was LAST YEAR.  Things have changed.

Actual results of opponent strength is:

  • No AL West teams
  • Opponents are a combined 55-59
  • No #1 teams in division
  • (2) last place teams in division

A good team would FEAST on this April schedule

I get what you’re saying, but it’s early and he’s been getting more hits of late. Leadoff hitters get fewer RBI chances than anyone else as well. He needs the bottom of the order to get on base more so that he has those opportunities to drive them in.

Yup, definitely a difficult schedule, sans Miami who is likely going to be terrible this season but the Reds might be improved after a surprising 82-80 last season. I am not sure what to make of Boston this early but, in that division, I would be pretty surprised if they made the post-season. Overall, a very strange schedule without any divisional games, 5 series against the AL East, and three interleague series.
