Pujols was an overpay just because of the length of the deal. Being backloaded was beyond stupid.

No, it was what the Marlins had to offer as an overpay because their franchise sucked. The Cardinals refused to go over 8 years because they knew Pujols was in decline. The Angels offered more money and years, an overpay, to pry him from the Cardinals.

Keep believing that but it wasn’t. His decline made him only a 5 WAR player and 5th in the MVP voting. I already said players leave for more money but you chose to tell me I was creating my own narrative.
