I saw a post from someone who was an intern at Tesla when Musk took over. He said that there were people in management whose sole function it was to "manage" Musk, to distract from and outright ignore his most destructive impulses. This was openly discussed in meetings when Musk wasn't present. Musk apparently doesn't have the intelligence, experience or maturity to be a leader. At Tesla there were checks and balances to offset his tendencies. At Twitter there aren't, and we are seeing the end result of someone who makes decisions just because he can, sensibility be damned.

I haven't noticed any widespread destruction of Twitter since Musk took over.

Sounds like he did the smart thing to hire those guys to deal with him. Maybe he knows his issues and short comings?

It's very possible that Elon is simply an opportunist who leveraged his circumstances to make a ton of money. That's different than being an expert at running the ins and outs of a company. Yet Elon seems to think of himself as the latter.
