Scoring Runs

Face facts:  we were lucky Ohtani and Walsh were hot in the Month of June.   Eaton, Mayfield and Marsh has improved our defense but our offense was weakened.

Our only hope was actually Trout and Rendon back early after the all star break.  That is not happening.

Upton is cool as guy to have around with the other good bats but on his own he’s mostly not worth thinking about.  Stassi is good but I mean he’s probably due for some regression with the bat.  Still not a guy you really worry about on his own.  Iglesias isn’t horrible but also not really great with the bat.  Again not worth thinking about.

It’s not really a surprise.  Other than Ohtani and I guess Fletcher all of the teams best players are out.  And now Ohtani might be out for a bit with the finger getting hurt.   Very sad !

That is why the whole "we still have a chance" dream is a fallacy.

Our only chance at the All Star Break was getting Trout and Rendon back quickly, and bring in some better relievers.

However once it was known that Trout was out indefinitely they should of just sold off our assets.

How much is our closer going to help is this year when we can't score runs to get into a save situation?

Not moving Iglesias was deeply dog brained imo (no disrespect to dogs) if they love him so much they could have just re signed him in the off-season.  Also if the plan is to make him a QO that’s stupid as shit also.

1 run in 43 innings against the A's.

Yes, Oakland has great pitching. Yes, we are missing Trout and Walsh. But that’s...that’s something. 3 straight shutouts.

It'd be cool if there was some sort of process for the hitters to look back and realize how their approach isn't working.  Or maybe if there was a guy like a foreman or something that would help coordinate those efforts.  They should invent that.

Interesting idea, but that's not in the budget clearly.
