Today’s starting lineup looks eerily similar to what we might see on opening night.  I like the fact Maddon is getting the starters at bats early in Spring Training.

It’s really going to be odd if LaStella is sitting all the time considering how he hit last year (if that continues). 
 

Not sure why they haven't given him some kind of chance at 1B yet. All-star and back to a platoon player from one year to the next.

The La Stella at 1b was interesting idea at first.  Now it's become annoying.  The experts who are employed by the team has decided against it because he doesnt have experience playing defense at 1b.

He doesn't really have experience playing defense anywhere else, either.

I know it's spring training but I feel our younger guys need to come out strong and man Patrick Sandoval is looking goooood. Throwing strikes, working quick and getting groundballs.

The Angels, it appears, are really making an effort to hit balls the opposite way.  It awesome to see that, and hopefully the Angels keep finding a way to hit behind runners and manufacture runs.

They are looking great at the plate so far, regardless of the outcome. Very patient approach and really working counts, fouling off good pitches, avoiding swinging at everything. So far so good.

Jeremy Reed and Mickey Callaway might be two of the most important guys this year.

Sandoval's curve and change are legit plus pitches. Has above average velo on his FB from the left side. There's a ton to like with him, he just needs to refine his control/command as is often the case with young arms

One thing I will say, the starting pitchers aren't fucking around so far.

The guys on offense that came up and got at bats last year all look significantly more at ease this ST than any at point last year.   Whether or not that translates into the regular season or results in better performances is anyone's guess, but they definitely look more at ease.

It seemed like last year at this time everyone was talking about it being early when it came to the SPs.   It's early this year too, but it's been night and day with that group.
