Cy Young.

749 complete games, not a single arm injury, and made it to 88 years old. Not bad.

found this quote of his on Wikipedia:

"I never warmed up ten, fifteen minutes before a game like most pitchers do. I'd loosen up, three, four minutes. Five at the outside. And I never went to the bullpen. Oh, I'd relieve all right, plenty of times, but I went right from the bench to the box, and I'd take a few warm-up pitches and be ready. Then I had good control. I aimed to make the batter hit the ball, and I threw as few pitches as possible. That's why I was able to work every other day."

Ty Cobb threw out the 1st Pitch at the Angels first ever home game at Wrigle Field in 1961. I was there with my Dad. We were both big PCL Angel fans before the Dodgers came to LA. And it didn't take us long to become fans of the new Angel team.

greginpsca pointed out that Cobb passed away in 1961. I remember how weak he looked when he threw out that 1st Pitch on Opening Day. I wasn't old enough to ever see him play, but he sure wasn't the legendary player I had pictured in my mind. My Dad died shortly after that game also.
