Qualcomm to Seek FCC's Approval for Antenna Pattern Testing

This is an interesting little article, that brings out the conspiracy theorist in me.  I wonder if Qualcomm has developed something that makes sat more portable?  This would make the ATT/DirectTV merger make more sense.  It may also grow legs on one of the early Dish/Amazon/Tmobile rumors.  And maybe why Dish for some reason has been buying up a bunch of spectrum that it hasn't used.  If you could make a sat phone into a regular cell phone size.  Then those sat companies like DirectTV, Dish, Sirus etc would get a whole new outlook on their future.
