How does a guy with those number slip so far?

Must play against weak competition and he's probably 5'3?

5-11 195 JR Played at Fullerton JC before Vanguard went to Anaheim High School....Vanguard is a NAIA school in Costa Mesa.. Back in the day they were known as Southern California College and one of their most famous former players was Ila Borders... Vanguard is the school across the street from the Orange County Fair Grounds in Costa Mesa if you sneezed you'd miss it.

Vanguard plays a pretty decent NAIA schedule. Played in the NAIA College World Series and ended up 40-17.

Arizona Christian is pretty good.

Biola was pretty good.

Westmont is good.

SD Christian is decent.

The Masters is pretty good.

Chuck in California the NAIA schools have some pretty decent talent regarding kids that want to remain in state and chase the dream! And many NAIA schools outside of CA recruit heavily also from the CA talent pool. I've seen some really good players go to NAIA schools from JUCO's here in SO CAL.

Nice. Maybe the steal of the draft?

NAIA teams playing equivalent is slightly better than most JuCo's. They generally don't keep up with better D2 schools, but in all fairness, the stronger D2 teams play up with any D1 school. But if I remember right, some D2 schools can be reclassified for NAIA tourneys rather than college World Series. D2 teams are generally better or at the very least equal with independent ball clubs., they're just younger.

I say this from previous experience with D2 schools and their players. NAIA is no joke. It isn't top notch, but guys that perform as well as Rojas does at an Indy Ball level are signed for a couple thousand and sent to AA. So the fact that he's younger and can be drafted and developed is significant.

Regarding that article about Marsh not signing by friend/home-town reporter, I found this down in the comments:

The writer of this article (ex Talking Chop, current Buford Weekly ) was going to do an interview with him on what it was like getting drafted, the journey, etc. He hadn’t heard back from him in a couple days and when he hit him up re: the interview, Marsh said "I’m not signing". The author said "Whoa, is everything ok?" and Marsh replied "Yeah, just not signing". He then asked "So you just thought college would be better?" and Marsh replied "Yes". After the article was published, Marsh hit him up and was saying "nothing was official" yet, "its just looking like i’m not going to sign".
