Anyone think he could be a solid starter for the Angels?

With his repertoire: A fastball that sits anywhere from 92-95 MPH, one of the best change-ups in the game and a good slider, I think he could be.

Sure, make him a starter. Can't be worse than Shoemaker.

Morin is a two inning max type pitcher. He pitches out of a stretch and really has no windup. He's Scioscia's stop the bleeding go to guy.

He's never started professionally so I think the Angels should steer clear of converting him. Once you do that this velocity will go from 91mph down to 89-90mph and that may be enough loss for batters to start picking up his pitches easier.

It isn't out of the realm of possibility though as he does create a lot of uncomfortable at-bats versus opposing hitters and they have a lot of trouble making good contact so....

Worth a shot.  They should try anybody at this point.

No, he's a one inning pitcher.  He doesn't have the stamina.   Last year every 25 pitches or more total between multiple days, we rest him.

It easy for starters to move to the pen, but going the other way is pretty hard. I think Morin has the pitch mix to start but not the stamina or velocity.

Derek Lowe went from 2001 closer for the Red Sux to 20 game winner in 2002, with the sinker being his out pitch.

It's not common, but it can be done.

No, but I think the team should consider trading Joe Smith and Fernando Salas for some starting pitching depth.  Bedrosian should be moved up, and Alburque can be recalled to fill in the bullpen roles.

Nah, he's finally doing well, let's keep him, Mahle, and Bedrosian right where they are. If those guys keep it up, we have the makings of a solid bullpen both this year and next year, should we run into some good luck and get back into a playoff picture.

I'd rather watch Notti out there for 55 pitches....  It's less of a slow death than what we've experienced for the last month....
