Should I feel excited about this offense

The Angels appear to be more able to manufacture runs this Spring so that makes me more optimistic. LF and C appear to be better. If we have last year's pitching the team should improve.

We are already better then last Spring training

But out pitching has me worried. When you play real teams full roster and game approach this better get better in a hurry

Obviously, putting the ball in play, and not striking out has been a nice trend. Royals had the fewest strikeouts by far last season and other teams took note. Nice to see Calhoun and Trout with a combined 11 strikeouts in 39 games. Also, the projected starting lineup has an insanely low number of 35 strikeout in 446 at bats with 40 walks. Escobar has not struck out ONCE this spring.

How does that even work?  I suspect they are trying very, very hard while on the field.

It's not a coincidence that the last time the Angels won a playoff game was in 2009 when Figgins and Abreu both got on base 40% of the time. That's not going to happen this year, but if Escobar and Nava/Calhoun can all be around .350-/360+ I think it will make a huge difference.

Cmon people really?  The Angels were streaky last year too.  Remember in July the offense was white hot and then August came around and it disappeared.  The point is bad offenses can look good in short periods of time.  Plus this is spring training.  Spring training stats is like playing poker with play money chips, no one takes it very seriously except that one guy that thinks it's the WSOP.  Lesson is, don't be that guy.

There is no doubt in my mind that this years offense will be better than last years.  How much better is the question.
