Weaver starts throwing from a new arm slot

Weaver said he found an arm slot that he hasn't been able to throw from in 3 years. More three-quarters.

Interesting, I wonder how that will effect how well he's able to conceal the ball. 

Maybe he's able to conceal it better if he's going back to the the arm slot when he was most dominant.

As long as he still holds the ball at the waist and extends his arm behind his turned back he should still be fine. 

 

EDIT: Concealing the ball has nothing to do with his arm slot, it has to do with the fact that he throws across his body.

Wear was not good again today...

two home runs, 3 runs over his 5 innings I think.

 

It looked like he was picking at a blister on his finger in the 5th inning; might be a good reason to not throw him to the wolves next start.

You think so? I would say that if you are more over the top then if you are like Weaver where you turn your body you would have an easier time hiding the ball if you are over the top. Either way if he isn't breaking 83 mph it won't matter too much.

just an FYI, there is an article from the last 4 springs talking about Jered's arm slot and moving back and forth from 3/4th.

Can we just admit that Weaver is done?  The guy has been nails through his career, but it is time.  Thank you Weaver for your time with the Angels.  Go relax and enjoy the 2nd half of your life as a pitching coach.

Can't wait for the regular season to start. Far fewer fluff stories when the games count.  A 5 inning, 3 run, 2 home run outing is encouraging.... according to Scioscia.  Ridiculous.

To be fair, Scioscia will say that crap until Weaver retires, is released, or on the shelf for the year. He's consistent.
