My two cents:

 

Wouldn't want Murphy if he costs a draft pick...will be overpaid because of his playoff performance. 

 

Should have just signed Zobrist...so far this is a disappointing offseason if we don't get Hayward

Though I still would like a little more pop coming out of LF, as with Murphy you're only going to get 12-16 HR's, and ZERO from Revere. 

 

I'd be down with going with Cowart or Kubitza at 3B if we could land both Murphy and one of Upton, Gordon, Cespedes or Heyward.

My problem is that Zobrist is a better more versatile player. I know it's in the past but I'd be upset if we settle for a worse player for the same amount of $$

Love that Murphy doesn't strike out much and clubs a TON of doubles. 

 

I'd be stoked to have him and either Upton or Cespedes, or of course Heyward.

I like Murphy better as a 3B, but I'd be fine with him at 2B.

I think one thing most of us are forgetting about is the bullpen. Middle relief sucked last year. We need to fix that.

If we sign Murphy, what's the point of trading for Simmons? Run prevention seems to be a big deal to Eppler, so I'd be surprised if Murphy is on the radar.

I wonder if after making the move for Castro, the Yanks would be open to trading Refsnyder.   They still have Dustin Ackley around to back up 2B and play the OF..   Refsnyder can't play SS, I know he's spent some time in RF in the minors but -- doesn't really profile as a corner OFer..   Would love to see Eppler try to make a play for him.

Considering Simmons had the OG Daniel Murphy, Dan Freakin' Uggla, as his double-play partner for much of his career, I think he'll manage. It'd be nice to pair him with a defensive 2B, but not at the expense of ignoring the offense. 

Pennington can be a late inning sub and Murphy can shift to third or first.

I'd probably be ok with this if they would take CJ. BP is owed $13 and $14M over the next 2 seasons.

Besides, if Yarbrough, Baldoquin, or Johnson develop we can always slide Murphy over to third or even first if Pujols becomes a DH.
