So many of you do not understand the idea of instilling confidence.  You just don't screw with a guys head because of a slump.  Not if that player has shown to be a great hitter in the past.

Doesn't sound crazy at all. I was advocating having Hamilton bat second even before Bourjos looked like a credible leadoff hitter. If Hamitlon swings at (or even better, takes) a strike in the dirt, Trout advances to second base. Still  gives the righty-lefty alternation (you'd get a huge block of righties if Josh was simply moved down to 6th or 7th). It also looks like Trumbo is back and can protect Pujols. I was worried he was lost after how last season went, Trumbo not long ago looked worse than Hamilton does now (swinging K's on balls at his helmet etc). Hopefully Josh will come back out of it himself before too long.

Maybe Trout should bat right before Hamilton. Pitchers like to throw balls in the dirt vs Josh, because he always swings at them.. It would make Trout steal even more bases or force the pitcher to raise the level of his pitches. Hamilton is a sucker for a slider in the dirt right now.

The 3 Spot is where the man has been the best at his craft. Case closed. Sandwich him between Trout and Pujols. Are they going to walk Trout to get to Hamilton? It would be conceding a double. If Hamilton finds a way to get on, then Pujols is driving them in instead of being intentionally walked.
