I find it interesting that the convenient blame is "boomers" when, in fact, the rebelling youth movement is from the Generation X/Y (you) population.

Sure, the entire computer world was founded by Boomers that pushed forward technology that started the global interconnections of thought. But Google, Facebook and Twitter was founded by a bunch of Gen X/Y. I would say it has been a bigger influence to this generation than their father's trying to get MS and IOS compatible for the general public.

The Boomers came first and are a much larger generation. Boomers did a lot economically for this country. Unfortunately, they lost sight of obeying their parents and passing on values to future generations. Boomers didn’t understand the importance of culture and Christianity which ultimately gifted us a culture of Taylors and Trannies. I won’t say that any follow on generation has been better. They’re likely much worse morally.

This, 1000% this.  The biggest way to know that someone is a bullshit Christian is when they start tweaking the teachings of the scripture to “apply to the modern world”.  You’re exposing yourself as following the world and not God.

I won’t go as far to say he’s not Christian but he is certainly on a slippery slope. I honestly hope he finds his way. He just lacks courage and has a rebellious soul. I lived most of my life full like hell. Eventually true believers find their way home

Boomers are the generation that fucked things up the most by a significant margin.  Grew up in an ideal time and were much more fortunate than any generation that came after them (and the ones preceding them) and yet threw it all away by embracing degeneracy in the 60s and doing a dogshit job of parenting and instilling values in Gen X

Keep telling yourself that and ignore your involvement in social media (GEN X,Y, Millennial creation) is the basis for how you view the world now.

The Boomers were the product of a World War and the Cold War, handed to them by their predecessors, the, quote, Greatest Generation. The generation that ran the world economy into the Great Depression and scarred 2/3rds of the working class for a decade, ramping up the 2nd World War then created the cold and hot war against communism.

They were depression and war babies with a shit economy they rebuilt through technology that you take for granted today. They walked on the moon, you can hardly walk to the grocery store from the parking lot without checking your phone. They also worked ungodly hours at crap wages in deathtrap factories, mines and oil rigs all so you can hop in a car and bitch about how Big Oil owns everything and sunlight will power the world.

Do something real, create something, write something that changes society, and quit bitching about a generation of people that put your lazy ass in position to live in a luxury status they never could have attained with any amount of money at your age. Like, the modern cell phone, invented by a boomer, some guy named Steve Jobs.

Indeed. I think Jesus was rad and if he took some of the things he taught 2,000 years ago, and taught them today, some of his most ardent followers would hate him.

I used to believe that every Bible verse, passage, chapter, and book had a singular meaning that could be deciphered through a faithful reading of the Scripture with aid from the Holy Spirit. What I've learned is that it's impossible to read the Bible without bringing our own cultural, experiential, societal, what-have-you biases to our interpretation. We just can't. Unless we sat down with the 35 or so people who wrote the books of the Bible and asked them exactly what they meant when they wrote down what they wrote, we can never know what the text was intended to mean. We can made educated guesses, of course. But none of these writers were writing with the knowledge that their writing would be taken, compiled, and edited into a singular book that billions of people thousands of years later would revere as God's Holy Word. They were writing with a certain purpose to a certain audience in a certain time. We are certainly not that audience.

If someone tells you they have the *correct* reading of a Scripture or passage, they are being arrogant at best and manipulative at worst.

Once again you’re questioning the power of God. You don’t believe that he’s able to deliver the infallible truths to man today. Yet you believe a few podcasters and modern day liberation theologians have finally decided the truth. God delivers us the truths about Creation, goodness , and sin everyday. He never changes. Our willingness to accept truth and alter our behavior is generally where the problem lies.

Many of your Christian beliefs are based on ideas that were invented by Americans in the 1940s and 1950s. Sad but true.

Every generation is a reaction to the dominant generation that came before it. Most of us will frame the world in a way that we believe improves upon the mistakes of our parents.

None of the stereotypes about boomers are wrong in the aggregate. They were the most rebellious generation ever, and understandably, given that their parents sent them off the Vietnam. They have had out sized economic and political power due to the size and timing of their generation. Every President since Clinton has been a boomer. This is not an exercise in blame, but a simple look at the facts on the ground.

I believe there is some legitimacy in this post. I also agree with @Kotchmanthat there are truths in this world that transcend generations. Throughout millennia people have thought they are smarter than God. In the long run they die and the gospel lives on.

Murder, gays, envy , and stealing weren’t invented by Americans and that’s the heart of the modern day woke churches rejection of Gods law. The Temptation of Eve wasn’t all that different from the woke ideology attempting to justify this sinful nonsense today. While it’s true The Holy Spirit left Mega Churches years ago. It’s also true he isn’t present at tranny story time at the local library.

Saran and leftist are adept at using the sins of the Church and America as grounds for rejecting God and Christian Judean Values. Yet they never stop and evaluate the death and destruction that prevails in every Nation of false gods and Secular Marxist government in history.

I think it's important to realize that people... Christians... have been debating the meaning of scriptures and the life of Jesus since the very beginning. Even his apostles did not know what to make of what happened. Throughout time certain core philosophies have trended in and out of fashion as the world has changed around it. For the hundreds of denominations around today and the thousands more that have come and gone, there is no one right way to be a Christian. To think otherwise is just vanity.

Ah yes the old “interpretation”. I’m sure you can humor me over The Constitution as well.

Very true. The idea that man is imperfect therefore the Bible can’t be trusted is purely the work of evil. It’s sad so many Christians doubt God’s ability to reveal his truths through the word. They  allegedly believe he’s an all powerful being yet doubt his ability to create everything in 6 days without the Big Bang or evolutionary process. How does Heaven and the afterlife come about because libs think God needed a lot of help the first time?

Certainly nobody fully understands and interprets everything correctly. There are some  very easy to understand pathway to Heaven and laws for Christians to follow.

Clearly everyone has an interpretation of the Constitution as well... and just like with religion, a lot of people see what they want to see.

The problem with people like you is that you think you’re super smart and you’ve discovered something that nobody else has ever thought of. In your mind you think that words were meant to be interpreted to your liking instead of been taken at their literal value.

Don’t worry kid. God just randomly chose the text he scribbled down. We need you to tell us how to read it.

I think it's pretty cool to imagine that some dude on the internet with a 95 IQ is the one guy to finally piece it all together after thousands of years of debate and fully comprehend God.

Impressive work sir!

I love your assumptions. They make me smile. You’re just a guy on the internet to me as well. I can definitely guarantee that my life outside of this baseball forum does not suck.

I used to be an Angels fan but I don’t even give a shit about that org as long as Arturo owns the team. I visit this blog just to get a rise out of people like you. It’s fucking awesome.

The Boomers fought in Korea and Vietnam, not that joke of a war in the 90's where the US fought the most chickenshit army ever to strip off their uniforms and run half naked through the desert. So fuck off with your stupid ass comments.
