Feinstein doesn't really understand the Interwebs

I don't mind paying taxes.  Taxes go toward a lot of useful shit that makes my everyday life a lot easier.  Yes, I know, taxes also go to a lot of shit that I wish they wouldn't be wasted on, but that's what (in theory) elections are for.  If you don't want to pay taxes, feel free to move to your fantasy utopia where there are no taxes and things are a lot better.

Sarcasm aside, I do understand what you're saying while once again disagreeing with most of it.

He's not saying he disagrees with having to pay taxes. He's saying that the government would do him harm if he didn't pay. He's definitely right. The only way anyone gets any action out of someone else is with the implied threat of harm, be it physical, mental, or financial.

That's just called life, though. Not even human life. All other animals, plants, fungi, and bacteria work the same way. There is no other way to operate. So I'm not sure what his point is. But he is right.

It is kind of funny in a Family Guy flashback way imagining the typical reader of that book just giving the book away to the government in a super polite conversation.

Out of sheer boredom I watched FG last night.  Before the first commercial there were roughly eight flashbacks or "it was like when..." scenes.  God, it was horrible.

I read an article on CNN today about private companies and law firms that states and the IRS sometimes use to collect past due bills. It doesn't matter how small they are. One bill of around $1.50 for an unpaid toll ballooned into over $300 with fees - and since these aren't common debts (i. e., no purchase was made) the agencies can legally operate outside the laws that normally protect consumers from overly aggressive creditors.

I would not recommend putting pool chlorine tabs together with some pool shock in the same floating dispenser. Not unless you want your pool dispenser to land in the yard in pieces. Leaves a mess in the bottom of the pool and scares the crap out of the gardeners as well.
