Benedict Cumberbatch is officially 'Doctor Strange' really officially this time

 

And I think this is a big Coup, shows where DC is headed as opposed to Marvel.  This what was reported 3 months ago.

I guess he could be in both.  But not many have done so.  And considering how many crossovers Marvel has, I doubt he will.

DC is never going to do what Marvel is doing. The main reason for that is Marvel actually has a production company that makes these films. So that's all they have to focus on, making good movies. DC is controlled by Warner Bros Studios who makes all types of films. The people in control of WB is just looking at making the most money possible and are not really as interested in making a huge connected world. That's why the DC movies keep getting screwed up. Look at the crap fest that was the Justice League movie. Warner Bros was going to make a separate Justice League movie with different actors than they had in their current Batman and Superman movies.
