dude has been going off the rails here for a couple years down here in san diego. really weird drug and or alcohol incidents. his career is going down the toilet if he doesn't get his head right. it doesn't seem like he's interested in any of that yet, which is why the padres just non tendered a promising starting SS, who led the league in steals just two years ago.

While I'd really like it if the Angels used Green for this function, I think I'm in favor of any plan that gets us more speed off the bench. Having a pinch runner that can actually steal bases is something this team hasn't had in a long time and would likely result in a couple more wins (at least) throughout the season and would be huge during the playoffs.

Just picture Cowgill not being thrown out at 3B against the Royals in the ALDS and instead having a fast runner at 3B in that situation. That's a win for the Angels and a fighting chance at winning that series and moving on to face SF in the World Series.

"Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera has been charged with resisting arrest after being stopped for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana, according to the Associated Press.

Cabrera was cited for possession of marijuana, which carries a $100 fine in California. Cabrera will be arraigned December 8. If convicted of a misdemeanor, the maximum penalty for Cabrera would be a year in jail. The 27-year-old hit .232/.272/.300 over 357 at-bats last year."

We do have to consider whether we'd want to add a possible train wreck to a team with Josh Hamilton.
